About Us
Welcome to the Tri-County Buffalo Rangers, a nonprofit hobby-focused saddle club serving local families and the equestrian community of Northeast Missouri. Founded in 19??, our club brings together horse enthusiasts from Marion, Lewis, Shelby, and surrounding counties for friendly competition and camaraderie.

Riding Contests
Our events feature a variety of exciting contests for riders of all skill levels:
- Barrel Racing: A timed event where horse and rider complete a cloverleaf pattern around preset barrels.
- Pole Bending: A timed event that features a horse and rider running a weaving or serpentine path around six poles arranged in a line.
- Plug Race: A timed event where the rider jumps off and crawls through an open-ended barrel and returns with horse to the gate.
- Pick Up Race: A passenger waits opposite of gate for rider to pick them up on horse
- Keyhole Race: A timed event where the horse and rider enter a keyhole-shaped path marked on the ground, turn around, and exit without stepping outside the lines.
- Fan Belt Race: Similar to Barrel Racing, but performed by two riders on separate horses while holding a motor fan belt between them.
- Flag Race: Riders must pick up a flag from a barrel, carry it around a designated pattern, and place it in another barrel.
Club Rules and Guidelines
- Age Classes: Pee Wee (10 and under), Youth (11-17), Adult (18+), as well as an open class.
- Unsportsmanlike conduct will result in disqualification.
- Horses must be in good health to participate.
- A negative Coggins test within the last 12 months is required for all horses.
- No abuse of animals or other participants will be tolerated. Offenders will be asked to leave immediately.
- All riders must sign a liability waiver before participating in any event.
- No horses allowed inside the cookshack and stands fenced-in area.
